Our Story: Flute and Music Academy (FAMA)

Before FAMA
Before 2012, Four music lovers who were experts in their respective professional fields (professional musician, educator, repair technician and band conductor) often heard a common gripe from their music students that one could not find quality woodwind education and retail at one place (Flute, Saxophone, Clarinet, Oboe & Bassoon). 

Determined to fill this void in the Singapore music scene, the four founders collaborated and gathered the top woodwind artists, educators, technicians and suppliers in Singapore to form the premiere Music School that specialises in woodwind. Hence, FAMA started in August 2012.

FAMA's Values
Being the first-of-its-kind music school in Singapore that specialises in woodwinds, FAMA is committed to harnessing the best resources for woodwind lovers. Apart from having the quality woodwind teachers at FAMA, we also provide the necessary retail for woodwind and the guidance for woodwind repair and maintenance. We select only qualified teachers, including SSO musicians, MOE trained teachers and music graduates as we only believe in learning from the competent teachers. Our average ABRSM results of 99% Merits and Distinctions for Winds is a testimony of the quality of our courses and teachers.As we uphold our core values of Integrity, respect, expertise and excellence, we are dedicated to nurturing students to become either better music lovers or professional musicians.

We made learning Winds easy. We have also created a systematic and affordable rental scheme of woodwind instruments that enables most new students to start the learning journey smoothly. 

Constant Innovation Means Valuable Instruments For You
Since 2015, we have also researched and developed our house brand of flute (Royale), oboe (MGX), Saxophone (Royale) and Bassoon (MGX). What benefits you is that you will be able to own the value-for-money instruments that has much higher specifications than the well-known brands of the same price. These instruments have also been tried and approved by the esteemed woodwind teachers/musicians in the region before they were launched officially.

Other Quality Courses Offered 
Apart from woodwind, we also provide quality education for other music areas, including piano, aural, theory and enrichment lessons for ‘O’ level music, ‘A’ level music and IB Music.
